Well, as you have probably noticed, I took some time off from the Transit Production blog posts. I can’t say that I had a good reason for it, so I won’t try to make one up. I guess life has just been busy. I’m going to do my best to keep them going for a while now, so please continue to check back every week for information about what’s going on in Transit.

Hopefully you know what this weekend is. I know it’s the end of Spring Break for most of you. School will start back on Monday. The weather is nice and you have probably been spending a lot of time outside. You are ready for Summer vacation. Those things are important, but not as important as what we are celebrating this weekend. Of course you know what I’m talking about – it’s Easter. We are celebrating the most important gift that God could have ever given us – Salvation through His grace. This weekend we are remembering and celebrating what Jesus did for you and for me on the cross. He paid for our sin with His life even though we are nowhere close to “deserving” it. That’s the grace part. Try to take some time this weekend and think about what Easter means to you.

A few of you were able to help out at Walking Wisely Weekend this past weekend. We are grateful for your help in what some are calling the best W3 of all time. I believe the final count was 2607 students. That number just blows my mind. The East was so crowded, but it was so awesome to see. I’m sure the stories of life change will continue pouring in. Starting in a few months, we will even start hearing the students talk about W3 in their baptism videos. It just never gets old and I still can’t believe that I get to be a small part of this ministry with each of you. It’s easy to take all this for granted and I never want this to feel like it’s normal or expected. God is blessing Transit in ways I can’t even comprehend.

No Transit This Weekend – February 12, 2012

Remember there is no Transit on Sunday morning because of Walking Wisely Weekend.

We are expecting a packed East Auditorium on Friday and Saturday nights and I believe we have over 2600 students coming. It’s going to be crazy, but so much fun!! If you are wondering what you can do to help, please pray. There are countless things you could pray for, but here are a few suggestions:

I hope everyone is having a great week. I have two things for you this week. First off, I want to make sure all of you know that Ryan Gray has joined the Transit team as the new North Point director. You have seen him around at camps and on on stage, so he certainly isn’t a stranger to North Point. I just wanted to make sure you knew so that you could welcome him. If you don’t know Ryan, please let me know and I’ll introduce you. He really wants to get to know each of you. Your next question is probably “Where is Shef?!?”. Shef hasn’t left us, but he is taking on a purely multi-campus role since we now have 5 campuses to manage. You will still see him around and on stage, but he won’t be at North Point as often as he used to be. Please join me in welcoming and congratulating both of them.

I hope y’all are having a great week. It’s been a little hard to get settled back into the regular swing of things with the Christmas and New Years holidays over. I’m sure y’all have the same issues getting back into the school routine just like I do at work. I will ask how your new years goals are coming along. Mine are going ok, but I will admit that it’s been hard to keep up with some of them. If you’d like to share any of your goals with me, I’d be happy to try to help keep you accountable. I’ll share mine with you too if you ask me.

Can you believe it, we are now in 2012. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years holiday, but I’m excited that we are back at church on Sunday. I honestly miss everyone when we have a week off.

I don’t really have any official announcements this week, but I do have something for you to think about. I’m not really a New Years Resolution kind of person. People always say they are going to eat healthier, lose weight, go to the gym, or some other lifestyle thing that they usually break by the time Valentines Day comes along. However, I do think it’s very important to set goals for yourself regardless of when you set them. What kind of goals do you have for 2012 and beyond? It should be something measurable and attainable. Think about something more meaningful than eating more broccoli or doing more sit-ups. What can you do this year to grow your faith and your relationship with Christ? Is it spending more time reading the Bible or praying? Is it going on a mission trip? Because those are some of mine. Ask me about them and I’ll share with you what I have planned for myself. I’d love to talk to you about them and maybe help you come up with some of your own.

The first thing I want to do is wish each of you a very Merry Christmas. You are each responsible for helping us create amazing environments like Transit so that middle school students have an awesome place to worship Jesus, create a faith of their own, grow that faith, and to create valuable relationships in their small groups. I hope that each of you will be able to spend some time with your friends and families celebrating. Just keep in mind the real reason for Christmas. North Point provided a Christmas devotional in main service that would be a great way to remind you what Christmas is all about. You can get it here – http://northpointministries.org/christmas. It’s a 5 day devotional, but there isn’t any reason why you can’t start it right now.

Can you believe that Christmas is almost upon us? We only have 2 more Transits this year – this Sunday (the 18th) and we are also having Transit on Christmas Eve (the 24th) which is a Saturday. It will be just like a regular Sunday morning, but we won’t have small groups and Chick-fil-a won’t be closed. I know many of you have plans that day, but if you’d like to help out, please let me know. I have heard back from a few folks, but we can still use your help.
